Hi, I make topological knots from nets like this one (attached). How can I post knot nets using polypad that are in the public domain and available to be downloaded and printed? Thank you, Bert
For now, you can share the Polypad link anyone you'd like. We are working on some features so users can create public folders of saved Polypads that are then available for anyone to see. However, that feature is still being developed. Feel free to post the link here if you'd like to share it people. And/or tag @MathigonOrg in a post on Twitter!
Thank you for responding so quickly. I love Mathigon and the Polypad!! It is so fun and easy to use! One more question if I may: Is there a smart snap feature for polyhedra? I'd like to build things with polyhedra! Thanx, Bert
Glad you're enjoying it. No - there is not a smart-snap feature currently for Polyhedra. The engineering for folding nets is quite complex. Mathigon Founder and CEO Philipp Legner talks about it in a recent webinar if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Lrr9xz3gY
Thank you for the link. I checked it out, but I'm not a coder so it's not really where my interests lie. If you ever decide to make a smart snap feature for Mathigon I might suggest you contact Rob Webb the creator of Great Stella https://www.software3d.com/Stella.php He may be able to help??? It's a feature I would really like to see in Mathigon b/c I think 3D virtual manipulatives have a promising future.
Hi David, I'm a mathematical artist (see some of my work here: https://www.facebook.com/STEAMakerEd/photos_albums) and am inspired by Mathigon's mission. I am wondering if there are any opportunities to contribute art or collaborate with Mathigon? I do not code, but have many photos, jpegs, and GIFs I could share. Take care, Bert
Hi Bert. Thanks for sharing. Your photos are wonderful. Such a great use of physical mathematical art. Currently, our plates are pretty full at Mathigon, so I don't think we have the current time and space to take on a collaboration, but perhaps something down the road. Thanks!
Take care, Bert
If it still doesn't work then you may have to access it from within Facebook.
